I was somewhat skeptical when starting this installment, because of the repeating explanations, catch phrases, and wind down of [b:The Unnatural Inquirer|1295202|The Unnatural Inquirer (Nightside, #8)|Simon R. This time we're introduced to a new villain, The Walking Man, who is a servant of God. Bequeathed with God's wroth. I work as a PI out of the Nightside, that secret centre of London where clocks always read three A.M., where terrible things happen with predictable regularity, and where the always-dark streets are full of people partying like Judgement Day will never come. Now it may have arrived. Godâ??s own enforcer, the righteous engine of destruction known as the Walking Man, has come to the Nightside. Heâ??s a being whose sole purpose is the elimination of the wicked and the guiltyâ??and given the nature of the Nightside, thereâ??s a good chance that once he gets started, heâ??ll just keep on until thereâ??s no-one left. So the Authorities have hired me to stop him. Legend has it that he canâ??t be killed. Iâ??m very much hoping that No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
