Excellent for a student looking to review his or her grammar (the reason I picked it up); I'm unsure how good it would be for an absolute beginner (although assuming they are a college student, I think it should be fine). I would suggest using it in conjunction with Wheelock's Latin, which is a an equally good textbook, but which takes a more lengthy approach, providing more explanation and examples.
