These 36 lessons are not without interest, but nor are they among the most engaging of Teaching Company courses. Guelzo, whom I really liked in the first part of the huge American History course, is his same well-spoken, likable self, but he focuses too much in my opinion on religous movements and figures in this course. He doesn't quite succeed in bringing his subjects to life the way Rufus Fears, for example, does in Famous Romans and Famous Greeks. Of course, I'm sure Professor Guelzo doesn't take quite the same liberties with facts, either. In any case, if you like the professor or the subject matter, dig in.
