Apunta't a LibraryThing per saber si aquest llibre et pot agradar. No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. A fairly exciting story set in the 1920s, featuring an orphan who decides to make her own way in the world rather than stay with her unpleasant cousins. A bit over 'religious' with lots of introspection about following God's leading, and sinners repenting with a large amount of repetition. Perhaps more suitable for the period in which it was written; it's basically very well-written and a good plot, but the style would be rather off-putting to the majority these days. NOT UNDER THE LAW by Grace Livingston Hill is a classic inspirational fiction. "Love Endures" series. What a wonderful classic. Thrust into an unforgiving world after a moment's frustration, Joyce Radway must learn to survive on her own. But when she unwittingly stumbles on a graveyard cover-up, she's both stunned and afraid. Joyce narrowly escapes, unaware that as she builds her new life she's being followed--by a man out to silence the only witness to his crime and another out to silence the guilt that plagues his heart. Will God's law protect Joyce when men are a law unto themselves? No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |

Joyce Radway finds herself abruptly leaving her home when her Aunt Mary dies, to flee the hardships she is enduring under her cousin and his wife, who live with her. She finds herself alone and in a town far away and will seek to become independent and determined to keep the faith and be true to who she is. But in her fleeing she will briefly encounter a troubled man she had known since childhood and that encounter will cause the man to see that his lifestyle is far from good. Through this woman's prayers and the working in the heart of this man, Darcy, you will see a profound change. But not everyone is good, and evil men are out to ruin Darcy. Can Joyce get there in time to save his life? It was a good ending to another good story by one of my favorite authors, Grace Livingston Hill. ( )
