"Our Lady." The book which Upton Sinclair says: "There is a saying that every author has one book which he especially loves, and "Our Lady" is mine This is a deeper and kindlier Sinclair than you ever have known. "Our Lady" will haunt you just as it did its author. You will read "Our Lady" not once but many times, and you will concur with Mr Sinclair and the critics of the 30's and 40's, that it is the finest book ever done by Upton. Sinclair called this his own favorite among his novels. 3 stars maybe doesn't do it justice. It is something of a clumsy novel, but it is eminently worth reading if, like me, you are intrigued by religious themes in...ummm...bizarre settings. Like, say, Mother Mary time traveling to a Notre Dame football game? Check your library; have them order it; and if you run across a used copy somewhere, let me know! ( )
