This story needs to be a flannel because the book is on the small side. A library blog and pinterest seem to indicate that this is better for older kids. However, I want to give it a try. Full page illustrations, small text. Age 4-8 yrs, Preschool - 3rd

Great story! The Wizard, the Fairy and the Magic Chicken were jealous of each other and try to outdo each others magical abilities. They make some monsters who scare them and have to work together to scare away the monsters. Even though they argue, they really are good friends.

This story has potential for reader's theater or a flannel board. There is such ease to the storytelling and would be really fun to make flannels out of and tell the story that way. I think that might be my next project! ( )

The Wizard, the Fairy, and the Magic Chicken compete against each other and each of them try to prove that they are the best one of the three, until finally they're challenged towards the end and are forced to work together. This is a great book for kids that teaches them about team work. ( )

There once lived a wizard, a fairy, and a magic chicken. They argued a lot (indeed, they argued through this whole book), but they were very good friends (so the story says). Of course, they keep on arguing even after they learn that trying to outdo each other only results in three scary scary monsters.... ( )
