This is the last and poorest of the Littlejohn series of crime novels.(1980).
The story concerns a series of crimes in the town of Roswalton,but I have to say that neither the murders nor the solution of the same are very interesting,plus there are quite a few errors in the writing along the way.
It seems to me that Bellairs was simply either weary of his character,as after all he had written 50 or so,books featuring him,or his inventive powers had departed.
Only of interest for those who are trying to collect complete sets of this usually excellent author. ( )
