If a picture book can make you cry, it's this story of a lonely pig that doesn't know he's lonely... until an escaped circus elephant turns up in his bedroom. Exceptionally charming illustrations and storyline that touch on themes of loss and bereavement, and unexpected comforts. ( ) How can you not love Pete and Pickles. If you like the warm happy feelings and the love story of UP, then you must read this book. Not only is the story endearing and heartwarming, the illustrations are amazing. Breathed has this way of making his illustrations breath, and live, both in his world and in others as if it was an everyday occurrence instead of the magic it is. Pete the Pig found solace in his life of predictability until one night an elephant named Pickles from the nearby circus ran away and broke into Pete's house. After returning him to his circus, pete begins to wonder if that was the best thing for Pickles. He breaks Pickles out of the circus and the two of them go on ridiculous adventures and become best friends. Throughout the whole book, it has the readers excited and wanting more. Curriculum Connection: This book would be a great book for Preschool students when teaching them about friendship and being there for each other. And the things you would do for the people you love and care about. Pete is a very precise pig who is introduced to the riotous imagination of Pickles the elephant when she escapes from the circus and hides out in his house. Despite his fussy ways, Pete and Pickles become friends, until Pickles makes a mistake that causes Pete to demand that she leave. She trips and breaks a water pipe and the rising water has very serious consequences for them both. Funny and touching and awesomely illustrated by Breathed. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
