It is amazing how figures discussed in 1990 are still with us.Pickett, Buffett, even Volker are still players. An excellent view of how the US had already moved from manufacturing to paper pushing.

I reread this from the perspective of post 2008, and the "crash'" I had not noted that one of the really interesting thing about this book was that was " A walk through through time ased on hundreds of con conversations, some wgth officials of state...wit steelworker, bankers, scientists. The talk with a The author makes the point that Drucker...who he intervews....is positive about the next phase of business ie entrepreneuship....but with jobs being shipped overseas at the rate they are, this may not be such a good promise for the unemployed steelworker of the 1990s.

Today it is an important book. ( )
