The main reason I like it is because of its fun, lighthearted story. The book follows a teacher who becomes stuck in her winter jacket, and chronicles her and her students’ efforts to get the coat off. One of the reasons I liked this book so much as a child is because I always imagined my teachers getting stuck in their coats. The illustrations were fun, yet realistic, and there is a child in the book who looks just like I did when I was a kid. For me, the book is good because it is relatable. It also has an awesome “big idea”- that solutions can come from where you least expect them. Mrs. Toggle is a teacher in elementary. She goes to school one day and her jacket zipper gets stuck. The students notice she is still wearing her coat when they start class. The students try to help her take it off but they can not. They go to the nurse, the principle, and then the janitor who gets the jacket off finaly. Together they got the jacket zipper unstuck. I like this book because it is a cute way to show children how to work together to accomplish things. A persons jacket is always getting hung and you could easily get stuck as in this storey. In the classroom I would use this book to show students to work together and solve problems. The plot and setting will be familiar to the students since it is in a school and about a teacher.
