great for rhyming lessons

Summary:
It's time for the kids to go to bed but as soon as the clock strikes, they're up and at 'em instead. They are setting out to go on a hunting trip. They are hunting for animals that they set out to find. A little bit of fantasy is incorporated into this book.

Personal Reaction:
I didn't care for this book. I felt that it lacked creativity.

Classroom Extension:
1. I could have the class hunt for different animals around the room.
2. The class could draw pictures of their favorite animals and describe what that animal does. ( )

This book would be good to use with smaller children. It uses animals and song to go through the process of getting ready for bed.

Steven Kellogg's book is great for young children. Anything with a singsong tune can get children excited. Young ones need to get used to their bedtime routine and this book can help them do this. It is a rhyming singsong book about getting on your pajamas and taking a bath. It also talks about brushing your teeth. The author website is http://www.stevenkellogg.com/index.html. It was a website with the typical sections on the photo gallery, about the author, but there was no teacher or kids section.
