In this story of the Berenstain Bears, Brother gets a bike for his birthday that Sister is very jealous of. That night, Sister gets a visit from the green eyed monster in her dream. During her dream, Sister destroys Brother’s new bike. When Sister wakes up she realizes there is no need to be jealous of the new bike and that she should be happy for her Brother. This book teaches about jealousy and how to deal with feeling jealous. One positive attribute of this book is how the illustrator includes all of the text in the visuals. For example, on the page that Brother is opening his presents from his birthday all of the presents that are mentioned in to text are shown in the illustrations. Something else that I like about this book is how the author uses text that is not always proper grammar to help define the age of the character speaking. For instance, Sister states when Brother gets his new bike, “I gotta have that bike! I gotta! I gotta! I gotta.” “Gotta” is not a word but it is a slang word that is often stated by children among the age of 7-15. Lastly, I liked how this book symbolized Sisters dream by making a border of the illustrations resemble a cloud. The cloud-like border reminds the readers that Sister is dreaming and that the events that are happening in the cloud are not real Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
