This book deserves some credit for being one of few contemporary publications attempting to describe mass transit systems all over the world. That said, the result is a collection of faits divers rather than a true reference work. On top of that it suffers, as so many publications in the popular non-fiction genre do, from relatively poor research, resulting in a number of clumsy errors. In short, this book may successfully address those in the general public with some general interest in rail transport, but is hardly a must for the true metro fan.
