Howard Downs, the man accused of murder, insists he is innocent, yet refuses to make efforts to defend himself. When found not guilty, he almost immediately confesses to a murder he did not commit. Having such a passive individual at the centre of the story could be what made it a bit boring. Not bad by any means, but not a keeper. (
