A collection of writings on Sayers by her "peers" that is to say, other mystery writers, most of them recent writers I do not much read, though there is a nice memoir of her by Michael Gilbert telling of his experience with her as a leader of the Detection Club. There are also an interesting article on Sayers' references to true crime (notably a rather limited parallel between Strong Poison and the Maybrick case) , though I was disappointed that "It was the CAt1" turned out to be a very sketchy comment on her short stories in general which does not discuss Maher-shalal-hashbaz, one of my favorite fictional cats. 1993 marked the 100th birthday of Dorothy L. Sayers and in her honor Dale gathered a baker's dozen of the finest and most popular mystery writers from the United States and United Kingdom who discuss the way Sayers taught them their trade. The collection was nominated for Malice Domestic's non-fiction Agatha Award. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
