The little rabbit wanders away from his brothers and sisters when the family is in the meadow. On his day-long escapade, the little bunny meets a squirrel, tries to fly like a bird, jumps like a grasshopper, and runs fast before the fox spots him. He sees his reflection in the water and thinks it’s another little rabbit; behind a hedge, he discovers a cabbage patch. But it’s getting dark and little rabbit is shivering, cold and afraid. He is lost! How will he find his way home?

With life-like, full-color illustrations, the story [only a couple of lines on each page] introduces very young readers to the animal’s environment and allows the child to follow the rabbit as he spends the day wandering through the forest.
