Loved it! Great read aloud. Can't wait to see the movie, though it never compares to the book. ( ![]() Sweet story, amusing author voice. This story is about a small mouse named Desperaux, and there is two other characters the book highlights, a rat named Roscuro and a maid named Migg. He is a bit unproportioned in size since his body is so small and his ears are so huge. He is unlike the other mice. He is brave and he enjoys music and reading. His father sends him to the dungeon because of this. He also falls in the love with the princess and saves her at the end of the book. It is a very cute story and I think that this would be a great read for intermediate. There's a good story here, but the writing is a bit cutesy for me (frequent appeals to "Reader", particularly. And author insertions). Glad I read it but I don't think I'll ever reread. Excellent, heartwarming! A good recommendation for kids, like mine, who think the books they read in school are too depressing.
