This book provides a theological justification for prayer within the Christian tradition. It should be noted that this book is an exposition on prayer in the Christian tradition and not about prayer as experienced in an interfaith context. This is not a criticism of the book but rather an explanation of its scope.
This is not a "touchy-feely" book. The book is a systematic and logical explanation of prayer within the life of a Chrisitan. While this might make it sound dry, in fact, the book is quite poetic in its explanation of how prayer is the means of communication with God and how prayer effects one's relationship with God and with each other. Haven't finished it yet; so far the book has been obscure and at other times very insightful and deep as to what true prayer is about and its purpose. I find it immensely enjoyable.
