S'està carregant… The Regulatorsde Richard Bachman, Stephen King

Book 61 of Stephen King. Enjoyed reading the novel, having read Desperation a little while ago this book was recommended by LibraryThing for me. Not his best work but worth the read none-the-less. For me being a constant reader I enjoyed my fix of plugging back into the matrix of Kings world. Enjoyed the similarities, overlap and differences between Desperation and there was also some references to the Overlook Hotel from the Shining and Doctor Sleep Easter eggs to enjoy. This book was okay, not something i'd read again. the characaters have similar names/personalities to the previous book Desperation - which i think makes it more confusing. Some of the characters are very similar - like Johnny Merrinville - and others just have the same name. The real connection is that TAK is inside of the small child in this book. The child is gifted so that he can contain TAK without killing him unlike desperation where tak quickly depletes the host body of being able to contain him. They both relate to the town of Desperation and the Rattlesnake #1 mine and what's at the bottom. This book has a lot of scenes that are real but not really real - almost like dream sequences? Its not something i'm really into but the parts about David and Tak are very good - I just didn't appreciate the storyline much. Overall this has connections to the dark tower series, but from what I can tell theres not an outright OH LOOK AT THAT moment - just similar situations and themes. Would not read again. So this book is a horror for sure. It's hard to explain but its kind of like a part 2 of the book regulators but not really cause the story doesn't progress, it's more like its rewritten. Lots of the same names but for instance. In desperation the there are two kids and there parents, in the regulators there are too but the kids names are now the parents names and the parents names are now the kids names. The main characters have shifted and even the bad guy is similar but not the same. Its still a great book but its like reading Desperation in an alternate universe lol. At the start of a midsummer's day, life seems idyllic on Poplar Street. However, in the house of Seth, an eight-year old autistic child, something is amiss, something which will change the entire neighborhood's concept of reality. By the end of the day, this serene Ohio suburb will become a terrifying slaughterhouse. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
