![]() No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. It's been many years since I first read Dick Francis and proceeded to devour his writing. His writing has held up very well for me. I enjoyed the characters, the settings, and the fast paced story line immensely and I will be revisiting his other works again. ( ![]() air transport delivering people not just horses excellent, un des meilleurs, grande tension quand le héro est enchaîné attendant la mort aux mains d'un sadique et quand il pilote un gros avion qu'il ne connait pas à travers l'Europe jusqu'en Angleterre Could not finish the book - way too dated Lord Henry Grey holds down an ordinary office job, to the horror of his family who think that he should solve the family financial problems by the traditional method of marrying an heiress in search of a title -- or as he calls it, prostituting himself. He hasn't told his family about his other activities -- amateur jockey, and semi-amateur pilot. When he shifts jobs into working for a bloodstock shipping agent, nobody thinks he'll stick to it. But Grey not only sticks with the job, he inconveniences other people by doing so, and by being bright enough to notice that there's something very odd going on. Another solid suspense novel from Francis, as ever tied into the world of horse-racing, and with a good romance sub-plot. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
Henry Grey had a bad disposition. Or so his sister, his co-workers, and just about everyone else said. But Henry knew a different job was all he needed. His present career as an office worker and part-time amateur jockey would never do. He decides on a whim to join the bloodstock market, transporting racehorses around the world. And when he meets the glamorous Gabriella in Italy, he is sure he's hit the good life. That is, until a horse unexpectedly dies in transit and a colleague vanishes. Then Grey discovers that both his predecessors went missing in curious circumstances - and begins to doubt the wisdom of his career change.Either he turns detective or his own disappearance could be next.
