This is a cute book for kindergarten students, it teaches them how to be creative. Even though a huge snow storm comes, a child makes a fun day out of snow using his imagination. I would read this to encourage my students to always use there imagination and be creative. ( ![]() Growing up, I can remember my mother reading snow day to me. We would cuddle up together on cold nights and read the book together. What I love about the book is how the main character is an African American boy. It does not highlight his difficulties in life due to his skin color, it just features a boy, a boy who has an imagination like any other child. As he plays in the snow he pretends to be a mountain climber. When I was growing up, I never thought anything of the young character being black, I just saw him as a kid like me, who liked to play in the snow and be imaginative. I love all the simple colors and shapes of the illustrations in the book. I also love the snow and everything that you can do in snow. This book is such a simple interpretation of the magic of what snow is. It also is amazing that the main character in the book is a little colored boy. Many children’s books back then don’t have colored main characters doing normal everyday things. This book was about a little boy who has seen snow for the first time. He went outside and played in it all day until it was time to go in. He was so excited about it, that he even told his mom everything that he did. As he was about to show he mom a snowball that he kept in his pocket, he realized that it melted and got really sad. That night he dreamed about the sun melting all the snow. This book was the first book written about a african american kid. I think that is very cool and exciting but I personally did not like the book that much. It is a very old book and I think that explains a lot of it. I think that it just does not really have anything exciting in the book other than just telling the story of the kids day. This helps children to go outside on a snow day and have fun while adventuring out Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
