Here is a work, Breathing Truth, offering both to the lovers of Rumi and to those not yet familiar with the great 13th century Sufi poet and mystic, the essence of his teaching condensed in less than 300 quotations. All those quotations are based on the French translations by Eva de Vitray-Meyerovitch from the original Persian. The book has a foreword by the current spiritual leader of the Mevlevi Order, originally founded by Rumi and more often known as the "Whirling Dervishes". This gives it a particular authenticity. Organised along sixteen themes, each developed in the kaleidoscopic manner of Rumi, the book allows the readers to become acquainted directly with Rumi's message without another person's subjective interpretation. It also allows the readers to find their way back to the source of the quotations thanks to a thorough work of documentation. However this is no dry, scholarly work: like the rose of the Sufis (hidden in the heart of this book as in their teaching), "Breathing Truth" has a subtle fragrance which cannot but entrance the readers, almost without their knowledge.… (més)
