( ) What a cool concept: a nearly wordless book that teaches prepositions. Double-page spreads show two elephants on a hot-air balloon journey to visit their aunt. As they travel, each adventure is labeled with a preposition. For example, they splash "under" a waterfall and "above" a city. Richly colored illustrations make the magic. This would have uses across the elementary grade levels for teaching basic "position" words to youngsters or for creating prepositional phrases with grades 3 and up This book covers a surprising amount of content when you consider that it utilizes less than twenty words. Much of the credit for its appeal should be given to Keith Baker for his illustrations. In short, two young elephants embark on a journey from Asia to Africa in a hot air balloon to visit their aunt. Each page introduces a different preposition as the journey takes them beside landmarks, through clouds, between mountains, etc. The bright and playful artwork grabs the attention of its early childhood audience as the one-word-per-page narrative expands their vocabulary. There are also more subtle themes, including family values, geography, and the joy of travel. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
