A very silly, goofy book. I really enjoyed reading a zombie novel where the zombie apocalypse is portrayed as a minor inconvenience that just lets the characters have a bit of fun killing every once in a while. Truly all period pieces should have zombies. ( )

Was in love when I heard the concept of the book, namely remixing work where the copyright had expired. Note that I would not have approached such a combined unless I was either not ever intending to read the book or was already familiar with its contents. Seeing the movie would not have been justworthy enough, but I had listened to the audiobook of Pride and Prejudice.
The execution, itself, was good in many respects. However, it only add these small, dead elements on top of the story. It would have been more thorough to have added an additional plot that related specifically to the zombie cause. Since this was not included, the book is not exactly worth the read. I feel like I have wasted my time reading an abridged version of a book and cannot really say I read Pride and Prejudice at all.
Will definitely read some of the other Grahame-Smith books though. Just have to do a bit more background research beforehand. ( )

Katherine Kellgren can do no wrong in my eyes. She is the Platonic ideal of an audio book narrator. Is there a Kellgren fan club? Can I start one? And be president? And frighten her with my immoderate love of her?

Anyway, there are some fantastic and funny things going on in this book. I love that Charlotte only agrees to marry Mr. Collins because she's contracted the zombie plague. I love that Mr. Darcy beats Mr. Whickam lame. I love that Elizabeth nearly rips out Lady Catherine's heart. But in between the awesome parts, it's just Pride and Prejudice. I completely love P&P, so that's not a bad thing, still I can only give three stars to a book that adds a few crazy-funny bits to a book that is already very funny and essentially perfect. I mean, what if I added a few hilarious scenes to Wayne's World? You'd be like, "Well, great job, Destinee, but it was already awesome enough." Exactly. ( )

Audiobook version. This book comes across exactly as the foreword indicates: The author who is no particular fan of Austen took the original text of the book and substituted chunks of text to include a zombie story. Even worse, the additions ape the worst of modern day historical romance. I don't get the fuss about this book. I thought it was awful and gave up about a quarter of the way in. ( )

I really enjoyed this book. I sometimes i got lost when i listen to it but overall i really enjoyed how zombies were added to the story. It was a fun read and i really hope to see the movie soon.
