A tiny, delightful book about the tiny delights of personal libraries. If your time is limited, [b:The Library at Night|2452483|The Library at Night|Alberto Manguel|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1328826506s/2452483.jpg|2459677] is more comprehensive and contemplative, though this one is certainly worth its 144 pages. Worth it for the bibliography alone. Great book about books. Many things in this book should end up embroidered on pillows in my home. -As for the saying "a book lent is a book lost", the solution is very simple: never lend a book, always give it away.'--pg 112 A bit more scholarly than my usual bibliophilic reads, but well worth it. Though I felt like an ignorant American at times what with all the French books that sailed past me unknown, a lot of this book about books and libraries is accessible and a fun read. This book about books is translated from the French. The (French) author's bookish musings is generally good reading, but of all the titles he mentioned, I added just one to my TBR list. That would be The Paper House or The House of Paper (both are English-title versions of the same book) by Carlos Maria Dominguez. I liked Bonnet's thoughts on art history books and exhibition catalogs. This guy has 40,000 books in his personal library; I would have loved to have pictures included of his library in this book. Not my favorite book about books, but I liked this small volume. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
