A wacky love comedy about a boy and his dog-goddess. It's a night of wild binge drinking as the Inukami gang get hammered and find themselves making wishes to a genie in a bottle. But where there's Inukami trainers and alcohol, hilarity and fan service are sure to follow, proving that it's never a good idea to mix booze and magic! No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |

Since reading the first two volumes, I read the manga series Love Hina, which I have discovered that Inukami! is fairly derivative of, though with the addition of a magical girlfriend. But LH tends to turn everything up to eleven, while I! holds back just a bit (in the manga, at least - the anime goes all out). The similarities with the LH harem and the tsundere primary girlfriend are strongest in volume three, so far, because the first two chapters involve seven of Keita's relative Kaoru's ten inukami.
My favorite chapters in this volume are the last two, parts 1 and 2 of "Fluffy Tail Serenade", wherein while Yoko is visiting Keita at his school in order to deliver his mobile phone, which he left at home, a magical chicken shows up. This magical chicken just happens to be attracted to strong desires, and a crazy otaku was talking to Keita and Yoko at the time. Naturally, the result is a chase through town while in bizarre cosplay (specifically including nekomimi, or cat ears), which is Kawarazaki's wish.
I like these two chapters best because they're the funniest of the five, and the image of Keita running around in nekomimi and a girl's school swimsuit is hilarious.
There isn't as much character development in volume 3 as in the other two, though in place of that, we are introduced to four more of Kaoru's inukami (three had been introduced previously), and there are more signs of an over-arching plot about Karina and the magical items. There also seems to be something going on with Kaoru, though it's too early to know if it's anything like the plot in the anime (which seemed to not get developed nearly enough and ended too early?).
The chapters are as follows:
Steps 11 and 12: Little Red Riding Hoods Beware, Parts 1 and 2 -- Kaoru has to leave home for a few days, so he asks Keita to come stay with his inukami, on account of an ominous presence Kaoru feels in the area. There's a lot of "ecchi" stuff going on, including a panty thief. These chapters parallel episode 9
Step 13: The Legend of the Holy Drunk -- After getting rid of a ghost at a liquor shop, Keita and Yoko are gifted with a box of booze, so they drink it. But one of the bottles was magical and some really weird stuff happened overnight, and why is Karina-san in a bathtub filled with roses and...dead?! This is not a sub-plot used in the anime, though it is similar to parts of epsiode 19
Steps 14 and 15: Fluffy Tail Serenade, Parts 1 and 2 -- an otaku gets hold of a cosplay chicken, and hilarity ensues. Most like episode 8 of the anime.
This volume, I feel like noting, doesn't have quite the same amount of fanservice as earlier volumes, though there is still quite a bit of "ecchi" goings-on, especially in the first two chapters. ( )
