( ) Master of Ecstasy is a paranormal romance that lean towards erotica without actually being erotica. It certainly has its share of sex, but I don’t think it has anything more than a lot of other romances I’ve read. What it also has is its fair share of humor, which cuts the sexiness quite a bit. The world-building is very odd, a mixture of 1700s Scotland and the future. I’m not sure that I’ll read any more in the series. It wasn’t bad, it just didn’t really hold my interest much. A tick-the-boxes vampire romance. Scotland, check; vampires check; time-travel, check; culture clash, check, magic, check; I could continue but it's not that bad. Blythe (oh yes the Blythe Spirit thing is used on the cover) is on a holiday back to 1785 from 2339, when the world is overpopulated and longevity is taken for granted. He's Darach McKenzie, from a family of vampires who is in the castle to deal with some of the out-of-control vampires who are homing back to the castle as the ancestral home. They're attracted but not sure where this can go. Ganymeded and Spare are organising this romance-fest and trying to matchmake. It's not quite going to plan but no plan survives the first contact with the enemy. It's readable, fairly predicatable but entertaining. Not a keeper but not the worst I've read. Occasionally I felt like it was trying too hard but still not bad. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
