I find all of the character's to be very intriguing even the ones that I hate. Nalini Singh can always be trusted to write a series that has engaging characters and a full and fascinating story. ( ) Angel's Pawn 4 Stars One of the Guild’s most capable hunters, Ashwini has a long history with the sexy vampire Janvier who always manages to be one step ahead of her on any hunt. This time, however, it is Ashwini who needs help from the irritating Janvier when she is sent on a job to locate a vampire who has gone missing from the court of Nazarach, one of the most vicious and cruel of angel-kind. Will Ashwini and Janvier be able to put aside their differences, and their mutual attraction, to succeed on this mission? Series note: This novella is a prequel and it is best to read Angels’ Blood first in order to understand some of the backstory to Ash and Janvier’s relationship. Ashwini is a compelling heroine - intelligent, resilient and kick-ass, but with an underlying vulnerability stemming from her unique abilities and bleak childhood. Janvier is the perfect match for Ash. Sexy and annoying, he gets under her skin and makes her desire all the things she shouldn’t want. Their banter and unfulfilled chemistry is one of the highlights of the story and makes me all the more eager to read their book Archangel’s Shadow The plot introduces readers to a different setting in the Guild Hunter world, i.e., the angels and vampires of the Southern US and it is interesting to see a dynamic in Nazarach’s court that is vastly different from that of Raphael and his Seven. In sum, an enjoyable addition to Singh’s Guild Hunter series but should not be read prior to the first two or three full length books. ** Read as part of [b:Angels' Flight|9738582|Angels' Flight (Guild Hunter, #0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 3.5)|Nalini Singh|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1311894951s/9738582.jpg|14627662]. I would suggest buying this as part of the Angels' Flight instead of individual due to the price of the single title. It seams high for such a short novella. This one we get a closer look at Ashwini, Elena’s Guild Hunter colleague and Janvier. It’s a little moment in time with these two; before they get their full Novel [b:Archangel's Shadows|17409835|Archangel's Shadows (Guild Hunter, #7)|Nalini Singh|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1394162943s/17409835.jpg|24252401]. In Archangel’s Shadow they mentioned this moment this assignment briefly and it made me want to find out more on the backstory of Ash and Janvier’s relationship. Ash is smart, tough, and can kick ass. She also has some “talent” or a curse, depending on who looks at it. Janvier is the ban in her existence. She’s hunted him in the past, but here he stands by her side for a Guild assignment. He has a talent for making friends with anybody. Angels’ Pawn focuses on the action rather then the romance. The chemistry is their and we Sigh does a wonderful job giving us a taste of, Ash and Janvier's, budding teasing flirtatious relationship. As for the world it's terrifying and riveting. I loved Angels’ Pawn. Rated: 5 Stars This one was different from the previous two in that it wasn't so much a love story but more of a peek into the world created by Ms. Singh. In Angel's Pawn I got to see the depravity of this world with Angels, Vampires and the Hunters who try to keep it from falling apart. I felt the wrongness of these immortal and near immortal creatures Ms. Singh created. As for Ashwini and Janvier their relationship was more of a cat and mouse game with maybe a little attraction to each other. I both wonder and hope that maybe more will come of their relationship and how much I would love to see that progress. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
