Theworld buildingg wasn't even that original since it just felt like another Harry Potter knockoff but I still enjoyed it as well as some of the characters. The story begins with Clary living her life in New York however she discovers some strange things like demons and vampires and then some people come out of nowhere to hunt them down called Shadowhunters and turns out that she is one of them and she joins them in a place called the Institute and she stays there and goes along with them for a while to fight off demons and other creatures and this part was kind of slow but action packed at times but at least it explained some worldbuilding aspects like how the Mortal Cup was made and the Downworlders, the mundanes and some character backstories. Eventually, she doesn't want to be in it anymore mainly because of her relationship with Jace which I didn't like then Clary meets a new person named Simon and Jace goes off and sees his abusive father but after a big battle he was sent to the hospital from his injuries which he recovers from eventually and then it ends in a cliffhanger. If you like paranormal fantasies this one is for you however there are better ones you can read like the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling and the Shadow and Bone series by Leigh Bardugo. This was a really good book. I loved it. There was danger and excitement and romance. The battle scenes were entertaining, the characters-no matter how fantastical-were extremely relatable. The story line kept me interested, there were a lot of twists and turns. I really liked Jace as he could make a terrible situation hilarious. The ending was... I can't describe how great it was. I am reading the rest of these books as soon as I can. This was absolutely amazing. It was a decent enough book, but I was disappointed with the lack of detail in how magic works in this world. I enjoyed this book while I was reading it. It is well written, entertaining, and engaging. However, the major plot twists at the end turned me off, to the point that I really have no interest in continuing the series. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
