An easy read, I enjoyed it. This is one of the best books I have ever read.It is just a-m-a-z-i-n-g!I love each and every one of the characters...I didn't expect this from Stephenie..even though she is a well known author..I wasn't one of them who adored and worshiped vampires and twilight.I found her character Bella annoying and others were too fictitious for me to like. But this book..it is just unbelievable..I love it..I never loved a book like this! The book is just perfect the way it is.Jared,Jeb,Jamie,Wanda,Melanie,Ian..every one of them..they are just you know..I can't explain it..the only word that comes into my mind right now..is Real!they are real..like I want a character or characters to be.The setting and plot of this book is very unique. The souls..and the planets..the romance between Melanie and Jared which also involves Wanda(Wanderer or the invading soul) satisfies Sci-fi,romance,young adult, adventure lovers equally. This is going into my must reads..please read this..it is best example of how book under modern literature must be..just amazing. This book was such guilty pleasure reading. I really enjoyed it but now--6 hours later--I can't really remember much about it. Like a hostess cupcake for your brain. One of the few books from my childhood that holds up upon rereading. Unproblematic? No. Enthralling? Absolutely. L'ho amato molto, dalla prima all'ultima pagina. Personaggi interessanti inseriti in uno scenario fantascientifico altrettanto interessante. Molto consigliato!
The worst, and paradoxically the best, that can be said about The Host is that there is nothing really terrible about it. It did not cause me to twitch and groan at twisted metaphors or bad imagery (someday we will sit down and discuss the delights of Jackie Collins, shall we?). At no point did I scream “Get an editor, you moron!” as I’ve been known to do while reading… well, let’s call them Stephen K. and Anne R. Lack of internal logic did not cause me to hurl the book against the wall in frustration and disappointment. But, adequately written as it was, I can’t see myself recommending it to any of my BFFs, at least not to those who’ve done me any favors. Prachtig, meeslepend verhaal.
The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of their human hosts while leaving their bodies intact, and most of humanity has succumbed. But Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. Wanderer, the invading "soul" who has been given Melanie's body, knew about the challenges of living inside a human: the overwhelming emotions, the too vivid memories. But there was one difficulty Wanderer didn't expect: the former tenant of her body refusing to relinquish possession of her mind. Melanie fills Wanderer's thoughts with visions of the man Melanie loves--Jared, a human who still lives in hiding. Unable to separate herself from her body's desires, Wanderer yearns for a man she's never met. As outside forces make Wanderer and Melanie unwilling allies, they set off to search for the man they both love.--From publisher description. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
