"It started as a burglary. That would have been bad enough. But when the masked intruder forced Dr. Olson at gunpoint to open his safe, the doctor knew he was really in trouble. In the safe were two DVDs, private movies he had made of those girls he had kidnapped...and killed. Suddenly the burglary became blackmail. But blackmailing a serial killer can be a dangerous game. Especially when he's as smart--and good with a scalpel--as Dr. Olson."--p. [4] of cover.… (més)

A hard crime thriller that keeps you turning pages. We know early on who the serial killer is, then we watch how the detectives close in. This is a well crafted story from an outstanding author. ( )

The back of the book made it sound so interesting. The back of the book said that someone breaks into a guys house to rob it. The guy knows there's a safe, and has the homeowner open it. There the robber finds some discs, and make the homeowner play them. It turns out that the homeowner is a serial killer and on the disc's it has the guy killing people. Then the robber goes to blackmail the serial killer. What a great plot! I mean, to blackmail a serial killer?? Are you nuts??? However, I thought it was to good to be true, and I was right.

The problem is that, that plot is just one small part of the book. And I mean a **small** part. I'd like to have that part be the whole plot of the book. That part was so good. The killer did some nasty stuff. It was so interesting, it made a great read. The real problem is that there are three or four plots going on at the same time, and it's confusing to follow them. Then when it was talking about the other plots, it takes away from the serial killer, and that's the part I wanted to hear about.

Over all, I'd say get it from the Library. This is the fist book I read by Ed Gorman I've read, and the odds are it will be the last. ( )
