The book does not delve into great detail of the battles or general campaign, but takes an overview. This is what I was looking for, so that was fine. One issue I had is that the author provides no maps to reference the events. I had to use my own research material (Palgrave Concise Historical Atlas of the First World War is a good one) to understand what was happening where. A bit annoying. Otherwise the material presented was interesting and flowed with the timeline. Chapter 11 (out of 12) dealt with 'What Became of Them'. A nice touch explaining how the Dardenelles Disaster untimately affected the main characters. The final chapter deals with how the campaing and subsequest events in WWI affected Turkey and Middle East going forward.
Good book, well done. I have read some of Dan Van Der Vet's other books and enjoyed them as well. ( )
