It starts with the seeds and goes through the many stages such as shoot, seedling, sapling etc. I really enjoyed one of the illustrations that showed the trees in each season. It also talked about how the fruit grows through pollination. There was a simple diagram of a flower to show how pollination happens. I would read this book in the fall and hopefully go to an orchard. We could also do an art project where we use scrap paper to make the tree and as a class make a giant version of the growth process of an apple tree.
