I give this book a 3.5/5 star review. The book shows several different kinds of dinosaurs and shows how to correctly pronounce their names by having them written phonetically. It's extremely colorful which can be appealing to preschool children. I wish this book included facts about each kind of dinosaur, or a small way to differentiate them besides their names. ( )

This book is about several different dinosaurs and a specific characteristic about each. I gave it a rating of 2/5 stars because although this picture book is filled with many great, colorful illustrations, I feel that the content within the book is not useful, essential information that needs to be taught to students. I would not use this text as an instructional book, but would offer it in my classroom library as a book for students who are interested in dinosaurs, to view/read during independent reading time. Many young children would not be able to effectively pronounce the dinosaur names (even though pronunciation keys are available) or remember them, but they would be able to recall some of the descriptive attributes about dinosaurs in general.
