Sorry, no. If children are memorizing trivia they aren't actually learning the science. And the deeper learning, the understandings, the patterns and relationships, are what matters. To his credit, Cleary does include some of that, and does have 'further reading' recommendations - and that's the only reason this book gets two stars instead of one. (
