Several of the threads that kept surfacing from the history of prior books/characters may have been tied up in those books, but they were repeated throughout this book, but never resolved. I found myself skimming over the repititious musings of how the blood of the women of Stonewycke ran brave and true and noble.... The fallacy of goodness inherited and passed on to the next generation, in spite of the Christian dialogue seemed contradictory. I put it down many times and only went back to finish it because it was my mom's and she liked it. Alison, the daughter of Alec and Joanna from the previous trilogy, has problems her parents and great-grandparents are worried about. She is very snobbish and doesn't want to socialize with the locals. Then a relative of Digory McNab comes to Strathy in search of the treasure he mentioned in a letter to her great-grandmother which she never received. He is a thief and a con man, but something about Port Strathy and its people is beginning to cause new feelings in him and prick his conscience. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
