( ) In my opinion "Paddington at the Beach" is a simple book and appropriate to go along with the Paddington franchise, however there are elements that were nice, but some I found to be lacking in substance. The text itself was organized by what Paddington was doing and a visual to go with it, along with expressive and appropriate illustrations, however it was not very descriptive and it didn't give its readers a chance to think critically, nor did the main character Paddington have to overcome any real challenges. "Paddington at the Beach" is a cute story for young readers but if looking to broaden perspectives and really think critically I would choose a different piece of literature. This interesting picture book portrays how even though things don't go according to plan, there is always another way to accomplish something. I feel as though this book would be an interesting book to read to a group of Kindergarteners. They may have a similar situation as Paddington in the sense of altering their original plans. This book shows how even though things do not go your way several times, it doesn't meant that you should give up. I would read this book to this age group because they will have interesting storys as well as being able to count along with the amount of seagulls that approach Paddington.
