Beautiful culture that is surrounded by us always starts with where our grandparents came from. This was a fun and colorful book about a child describing their Abuelita or Grandmother. From the way the child speaks of their grandmother, it is very obvious that they have a very special relationship, which people of any age can relate to. I like that although the book was all in English, there were a few Spanish words scattered throughout the book. Between the illustrations and Spanish sprinkled throughout, I was able to get a sense of the character’s culture. I enjoyed reading this book because it has a good representation of a possible different culture with still having many similarities in the students lives. This book is good for young children because it talks about routines, and has 2 languages. The illustration I was not a bf fan of, i thought they were creepy and grandmas face was a little scary. With great gusto, a child's grandmother performs deep knee bends, consumes a breakfast of "huevos estrellados," and practices vocal exercises before going to work as a storyteller. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
