It was about animals with wings and information about them that make them the animal they are. The book also talks about how humans wish they could have wings to do different activities in our lives. The book gives facts about animals with wings for example birds like an eagle, barn sparrow and many others. The book also compared other like animals to one another to have a comparison between them.

This book is full of information about birds, insects, and bats. For me the best part about this particular book is that within the words, certain birds are explained and details about them are given, but the pictures are also labeled so that the reader can see it. I actually had a bit of a hard time paying attention to this book myself simply because there was just so much information available within the book. This book can definitely be used in the classroom, but I think that it can be broken up into days. So one day we read the section about insects, the next on birds, the next on bats. After all the sections have been read and discussed individually, then the class can go back and read the book in full. ( )

I like how this one started with questions. I think it would be cool if think aloud questions were written into more books. This book uses simple text. I would use this as a read aloud. I would use this book with k-5. ( )

A good book that notifies you about the world of animals with wings, and how differently they are made. It tells you about many of the different species of the animals with wings, their habitats, and their special abilities. This book is wonderfully written so that the audience is readily absorbed by what the author has to say. A book for elementary school-aged children. ( )

This book covers all sorts of winged animals, from insects to birds to bats. Some animals even use their wings for more purposes than just flying! Labeled illustrations help introduce children to reading science books with diagrams, and the paragraphs flow seamlessly across different topics without awkward transitions. This book could be read aloud in parts as a large-group activity, or read independently by many children in a reading center. A Pair of Wings would especially be fitting for an upcoming visit to a zoo with a butterfly room or other insect exhibit. ( )
