El ritme -lent, lentíssim- és potser allò que primer destaca; la quotidianitat del que explica, en contrast de l'excepcionalitat d'un amor -potser millor dir, una relació- entre una dona de vora quaranta anys i un antic professor que ronda la setantena, és el que més m'ha sorprès, agradat. Relatat en primera persona, la protagonista detalla menjars i begudes, elements principals dels moments que comparteix amb el mestre, de qui s'adona que s'ha enamorat. La nuesa d'escarafalls demostra la profunditat de la relació i això mateix es trasllada en el llenguatge utilitzat en el llibre. ( )
Aquest és un llibre sobre un amor madur, quotidià.
No hi han grans escarafalls, no hi ha passió, ni tan sols sembla haver-hi atracció física però és emocionant com els protagonistes, incapaços d’empatitzar amb el món, es van amarant poc a poc un de l’altre amb cada trobada casual. ( )
