TWO STARS--PWP sums up the entirety of this short story. It's literary porn with minimal plot. There should not be high expectations of anything other than lust fulfilled (hopefully) from a word 'one off'. Not to discredit PWP's because some times if the mood is right and the writing is erotic enough, you could have magic. ;)
Unfortunately, this story didn't do it for me.
The story line had potential: Billy Baxter is a small town "bastard" (hate the term) and he's being forced to perform criminal and sexual acts for a corrupt police man (Davis) in the small town of Ashley, Alabama. Billy is treated poorly but he takes it because it's the only life he knows. Plus, he's being blackmailed. Poor Billy.
There's some mention of how Billy became to be a part time thief and sex toy but the main point of the story is SEX! So Billy gets saved by a criminal gone good (?) who falls for Billy in the same day and helps save him.
The story ends rather abruptly in coitus. So I am assuming it is a HFN. The story is okay. If you're looking for not much depth and more about sex. (the one cop scene could be considered 'coerced' but Billy seemed resigned to perform) The rest was weak but the scene with the criminal savior was sort of hot.
