"Boobytrap" was my first experience in reading one of his mysteries and I'm sorry I waited so long.
This is not only a good thriller but an excellent end of the summer book.
Assistant district attorney Pat Dixon gets a chance for a vacation in Deep Mountain Lake but can't leave right away. He asks his friend, Nameless Detective, if he could do a favor and in return he'd get a bargain.
Dixon has another friend who can't use his lakeside cottage due to business cases so if Nameless could drive Dixon's wife and son to the cottage, he'd let him use his friend's cottage just for paying utilities and general expenses.
At the same time, also staying at the lake is a recently paroled explosives expert who wants revenge on the people who sent him to prison a number of years ago.
The story is colorfully detailed as we view images of the lake and surrounding area. Then, the first murder occurs and suspense mounts in a way that grabs the reader's attention for the remainder of the story. ( )
