I could copy the only other review for this book word for word and feel like my feelings were adequately summed up.
I will add however that I feel like this gives a very interesting backdrop to modern Jewish opinions.

There is a worn and yellow news clipping of the book in the paper. "Wife writes of mates last year" Written by: Sylvia Sachs. Many women have nursed their husbands in their last illnesses and suffered with them, worn themselves out emotionally and physically. Few can write about the situation like Hila Colman describing the last year with her husband, "Limey", who had suffered a massive stroke.
"Hanging On" is the work of a professional writer...Mrs. Colman has published some 50 books during her career. The book is engrossing and highly readable, telling a familiar story of hope, dispair, compassion and conflict. "Limey" was not an easy paitent, the seesaw of encouragement and discouragement, the sad end in a hospital all are discussed honestly and ring of truth.
I myself have had a massive stoke. Rich helped me over the years to come back. Now I am with my 7th (small) stroke. To me a stroke is a stroke is a stoke! And last year we found he has a cyst on his frontal left lobe. With cognative and memory being affected. Early this year he had a stroke in hospital. I think I am going to read this for pointers of how to do this better. Where we both stay happy and healthy.
:) On the back there is The Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr. Show on CBS NYNY
