I wasn't entirely sure where we were going to end up, but I was happy when we got there. This story...these characters... The mother/daughter thing. It earned every star. All the world-building is through the characters, and it's not simple or safe. So, that we get a HFN is barely reassuring. But trust me, it's good.

This is the weirdest YA I've read so far. I'm not sure anyone can out-weird it. I mean, I've read Atlanta Burns, and Character, Driven, so weird is a favorite. This one's head of the pack.

Unreservedly recommended if you love irreverent heroines. :)… (més)

I need a sequel to this book like tomorrow. I loved everything about this book. It brought me back to when I was in school and became pregnant. I didn't face racist things like Sarah did, but I did face the looks of being a pregnant teenager. The love story is very sweet and reminds me of how so men really so care about a person and are not always after one thing. The friendship between Sarah and Devi is sweet and wonderful to read. This book opened my eyes to the struggles that teenagers have about coming out to their parents about being trans as well as young people today understanding the need to not put labels on gender as a child grows up. This is a great book for YA readers as well as some adults. This book helps for adults to understand about slut-shaming as well as watching how they speak to people. Great book.… (més)

This is a fun and fast read.
In case anybody missed it: This book is not for prudes!

I loved Maggie's relationship with her mother. And the fact that the girl wasn't thin and willowy and super-model-y. She wasn't perfect.
I liked that sex was painted in a healthy way.

I did not like the plot holes. And the many mysteries that remained. Also: the last part of the book was too fast and abrupt and WTF?

This book reads like there's a sequel coming. If there is one I won't be reading it.

FINAL VERDICT: Try it, BUT Not for everyone… (més)
