Four lectures by the Swiss Professor known for his courses on history of philosophy, in which he introduces the phenomenologie of Husserl, and then ties the work of Heidegger, Sartre and Merleau-Ponty to it . Heidegger is presented as transcending it through language, Sartre through action/freedom, and Merleau-Ponty through the opposite of movement: by means of becoming conscious of one's relationship to the world to the point where it is indestructible/irreducible. Where the world is revealed in its "inalienable presence".

This collection also includes very helpful and specific articles on the functional "radical point", the Cartesian point of departure demonstrated by Husserl, and what is being transcended in the process of examining examination. The "reflexion" principle is exploded as an aid to transcending and being conscious of Self. And finally, seven short pieces on the meta-noetics, referencing the work of Kant and Heidegger.
