This book argues that the schism in American attitudes about climate change is attributable to cultural attitudes and values and so working within this context will be more effective at getting people to be willing to do something about it than just throwing scientific data at them. I think this makes sense and probably applies to many other divisive issues as well, so the book gave me a lot to think about, and I appreciated the clear, accessible language the author used to explain complex topics.… (més)

This is basically a journal by a guy working for a jerk on some big houses (spoiler alert: he never figures that out). No take away 'story' only an apparently honest attempt at some translucent soul searching, oxford-n-khaki hero worship, treadmill tale telling about transient nail bangers and a love of wood that bubbles up in a tung oily puddles here and there. There is some fun dialogue & insights but the essence of one off high end home building comes up more than a CH short.
