This writer really picked a murder victim's name as her penname. A mail-order bride who was brutally murdered and buried in a shallow grave. How very Rowling to make a penname out of a real life terrible tragedy person -Just Jo King chose a Nazi torturer so the tragedy is the victims. Here the name is of a victim. Maybe this is a step worse than JKR's stunt.

An interesting premise, but executed poorly. I feel like I'm saying that a lot with my reviews lately. I need to mix it up a bit. Let's see... The summary sounded neat.
We got none of it in this book.

Women's empowerment does not mean showing up getting sexually assaulted and then getting angry about it. I've seen this a lot. I don't get it. It's a pretty common thing. First off, remove the SA, just don't. Or have it happen to a sibling or friend. She didn't go through it, they did, she can't hope to comprehend this, but she's upset and blinded by this.
She seeks revenge but it's not hers to take.
That could be so dang interesting! I'd love to read that! Why can't we have that instead?

And I was so far in before I realized... This is a Dragon Age fanfiction published. I thought it was just coincidences but no, this is too dead on. It's finally happened. I'm so done.

One thing repeatedly said is: "My bowels turned to water" and I think that's instant diarrhea. I don't know why, but instead of being concerning, it was funny to me.
Edit: This is a line repeatedly said in A Court of Thorns and Roses, so there's that borrowed from SJM.

I can't handle him describing her vagina as feeling "brand new", ew. Like what, a newborn? Thus continued the belief that vaginas get loose and bad women's anatomy.

I'm squinting but I'm pretty sure they buried the only gay in this book. Weirdly specific character to kill. Can't not think of that as standing out.

Not gonna lie, the cover art is neat. I think it's minimalistic and sets a mood. Except the wolf. Idk what's going on with the wolf but it throws it off. If only cover art matched the insides of books, they'd be getting higher ratings from me.
Edit: Dragon Age, right. So SolasxLavellean cover art often looks a lot like this. So I can't even praise the cover art anymore. Ugh. It's all lifted from something else.
