Chuck Leavell

Chuck Leavell is most famous for being the keyboardist for the Rolling Stones. What many may not know, is that he and his wife are dedicated tree farmers, practicing forestry on their Georgia property. Leavell is so enthusiastic about his late-in-life forestry avocation, that he wrote a book about trees and forestry. While many other books about trees and forestry are more interesting, I give credit to Leavell's efforts -- especially his recognition that tree's can be managed and harvested in an environmental manner, producing societal benefits -- and that not all trees need to given a hands-off treatment.… (més)
