From the first page the action grabs you as the return of Mordock threatens to end the lives of the people of the world.

The old Mage is first woken, much earlier then needed, and told to go in search for the new Guardians. The threat of Mordock is imminent.

All but one of the chosen agree to training for this honor and begin so. Unfortunately, Mordock has received powers much quicker then the two years from his first encounter with the Mage.

I enjoyed how Whit McClendon brought his characters to life, and the situation in the realm of magick seemed so real.

I hightly recommend "Mage's Burden" by Whit McClendon to anyone who enjoys a good story with lots of action.
