Sadly, whereas normally we can ignore the Brits naivety and ignorance, Brexit has led to those numpties dragging them all over the cliff edge with them. They are all now hitting the ground far below. And the idiots are starting to turn on each other. Blame arrogance, ignorance, the trashy right wing press and poor education for causing this catastrophe to unfold. But wait? Wasn't it about controlling their borders? Well, other countries have their borders to control too. Did no Brexhiteer think about that? That shows their intellectual level as well as their jingoistic one too.
UK Brexit discussions were conducted in secret. The only messages coming from the UK team were how the EU was not very accommodating to British sovereignty (Jonny foreigner attitude). The final signed document of 1246 pages plus around 2000 pages of annexes and clarifications was only released on 24th December and couldn't be analysed before the 31st December. Also I'm quite sure nobody on the British side fully understood the implications! The incompetence is staggering! The EU politicians, diplomats and business knew exactly what was signed. All 27 countries were kept fully in the picture during the 3 and 1/2 years of discussions. Consequently the "deal" was quickly ratified by all 27 "sovereign" nations. I fear the UK (English) government has been a Brexit disaster from beginning to end. Typical Borish. Legend has it that when he was a bendy bananas reporter (sic) he handed his column just before the deadline thus, avoiding scrutiny and editing. Nothing new here except that anyone with a smidge of common sense, could see all this Cummings. Still, there's plenty of British happy fish in the sea...
It's all the perfidious foreigners fault. As if they had the right to treat Rule Britannia as being outside the EU!… (més)
